Rocky Score

Scores are assigned using our published methodology. Sub-scores cover performance, build quality, value, compatibility, ease of setup, upgrade potential and support. Evidence notes explain notable judgments.

Hands-on vs desk research

We label reviews based on hands-on testing where applicable. Desk-researched products use manufacturer documentation, owner reports and compatibility verification — clearly noted in evidence fields.

Updates

Products are re-scored when firmware, pricing or ecosystem compatibility materially changes. Modified dates appear on guides and product pages.

Gifts & loans

Sample units are returned unless purchased at retail. Loaned hardware does not guarantee a favourable score.

Corrections

Readers can report errors via in-page forms. We aim to acknowledge substantiated corrections within five working days.
